How our website migration works
Moving hosts sounds risky, but most of the work happens before anyone notices. We copy your site to our servers while the old one keeps running. Your customers keep using the live site the whole time.
Once the copy is ready, we test it on our server using a temporary address. We click through pages, submit forms and log in to the admin area. Only when it all works do we point your domain to the new server. Our aim is no downtime, and for most sites there is none.
An honest note about DNS propagation
When your domain is pointed to a new server, the change does not reach every network at once. Internet providers cache DNS records, so for a while some visitors see the new server and others still see the old one. This is called DNS propagation, and it usually settles within a few hours but can take up to 24 to 48 hours.
To keep this smooth, we lower the DNS cache time before the switch where your provider allows it, and we ask you to keep your old hosting active for a few days after the move. During that window, we avoid content changes so both copies stay the same. Email follows the same rule, which is why we plan the switch for a quiet time.
Migrate a WordPress website, or move to a new domain
To migrate a WordPress website, we move the files and database, then check the site address settings, permalinks and any plugin that stores full URLs. If you want to migrate a WordPress site to a new host on your own, a migration plugin can work for small sites, but larger sites and stores are safer done by hand.
If you want to migrate a website to a new domain at the same time, we also update internal links and set up 301 redirects from the old addresses. That keeps visitors and search engines on track. We recommend doing a hosting migration and a domain change as separate steps when possible, so any issue is easy to trace.

Is website migration really free?
Yes, migration is free when you take one of our hosting plans. We move your existing website and its email as part of the setup. For very large or custom setups, we will tell you upfront if anything extra is needed.
What do you need from me to migrate website hosting?
Access to your current hosting control panel, or FTP and database details, plus access to wherever your domain’s DNS is managed. If you only have a WordPress admin login, that is often enough for us to start.
Will my website go down during the move?
We aim for no downtime, and the old site stays live until your domain points to us. During DNS propagation, some visitors may briefly reach the old server, which is why we ask you to keep it active for a few days.
How long does it take to migrate a website to a new host?
A typical business website is usually moved within 1 to 3 working days, including testing. Larger sites and online stores can take longer, and we will give you an estimate after the review.
Do I have to transfer my domain too?
No. You can keep your domain where it is and just point it to our servers. If you prefer to manage everything in one place, we can transfer the domain as a separate step.
